About the Stadium
Daytona International Speedway is the home of “The Great American Race”-the Daytona 500. The enormous 480-acre motor sports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of “World Center of Racing”. The track is 2.5 miles on a tri-oval and 40 feet wide with 12-40 foot apron. The turns bank 31 degrees and 18 degrees on the tri-oval.
The speedway is booked for more than 2 solid months each year for testing and development of various race vehicles. The public is invited to come and watch during these testing sessions.
About the Show
The Daytona International Speedway has hosted the Daytona 500 since 1959, now the culmination of a two-week festival of speed, known as Speed week.
The race will typically run three and a half hours with speeds of 142 mph and have had margins of victory of .193 second.
